Start-up Day

Start-up Day was held on Saturday, February 6
in Glasgow for the New Ideas Competition and New Ventures Competition finalists from all Scottish higher education institutions.

We had excellent speakers from: Enterprise Rent-A-Car, ThinkTank Maths, 4C Design, Scottish Enterprise, PSYBT, Harper Macleod, Deloitte, Co-Operative Education Trust Scotland, and several universities. The speakers helped increase knowledge of entrepreneurship and stimulated development of ideas for the next round of the competitions and beyond.

Participants also had the chance to pitch your idea to our speakers and facilitators.  The best New Idea and New Venture pitch will each won £250.  Winners of the pitching competition were: New Idea - Sam Smith, University of Glasgow and New Ventures - Alex Cole, University of Edinburgh
