Rules
Create a 60 second short film that raises awareness of an issue you feel strongly about Shorts should be a minimum of 45 seconds and a maximum of 60 seconds.
- All video entries must be uploaded onto the SIE microsite by Friday 17th April 2009.
- One MacBook and a Fluid Eye Production training course will be awarded to the winning entrant. One Fluid Eye Production training course will be awarded to the runner-up entrant.
- Students from all 19 higher education institutions in Scotland are eligible to enter: this includes undergraduate and postgraduate. Students from the following students are eligible to enter: Edinburgh College of Art, Glasgow Caledonian University, Glasgow School of Art, Heriot Watt University, Napier University, Queen Margaret University College, Robert Gordon University, Royal Scottish Academy of Music & Drama, The Open University in Scotland, UHI Millennium Institute, University Aberdeen, University of Abertay Dundee, University of Dundee, University of Edinburgh, University of Glasgow, University of Paisley, University of St Andrews, University of Strathclyde, University of Stirling.
- Teams can include as many members as needed. Only one MacBook will be awarded to the winning team, regardless of number of members.
- Entrants should access the SIE website to read information on enterprise, as inspiration for their 60 second short.
- Film format can be of any kind, for example: hand-held camera, mobile phone camera, CGI, animation, stop-motion, professional studio etc.
- The video clip can be submitted on the SIE website: www.sie.ac.uk/makeadifference
- The video clip can be of the following format: Quicktime (.mov), Windows Media (.wmv), MPEG, YouTube link.
- Once the video has been uploaded, applicants will receive a confirmation email. Please retain this email as proof of entry.
- Individual students can only enter once in one team. Applying with different team members in a different team is not allowed.
- The video should not be filmed in any premises that ban filming, such as cinemas, airports, government buildings. SIE will not be held responsible if a video is filmed in one of these areas.
- The video should not contain any profane language, nudity, racial, sexist or controversial images. This includes religious or political viewpoints. SIE will not be held responsible for the result of such material being recorded.
- Film makers must agree to SIE having the right to show and distribute their short films for screening in other venues and any other promotional platforms throughout the world
- Copyright in films submitted remains with the film makers. Please check all copyright of music and video clips used in your Short before submitting.
