Where did the idea come from?

Ana Betancourt and Gabrielle Haley share a passion for sound design, and studied MSc Sound Design together at the University of Edinburgh. After graduation, they decided to move on from freelancing and team up to start their own audio post-production business – Black Goblin Audio.

The next steps…

Ana and Gabrielle entered their business concept into the Fresh Ideas Competition, hoping to win funding towards marketing their new startup. Through successive stages of the contest, they were able to validate and develop the idea with the guidance of business advisors and fellow young entrepreneurs. Their final pitch earned them a place as one of 2018’s overall winners, and £1,000 in prize money to get Black Goblin Audio off the ground.

Where are they in 2019?

Black Goblin Audio are currently participating in the Launch.Ed and Santander Startup Summer Accelerator,  and placed as top ten finalists in the Converge Kickstart competition in March.

Besides being finalists in the Young EDGE competition, they have also been shortlisted in the Converge Creative Challenge, with winners to be announced in September.
