I would like to provide an update on SIE’s current operations. Like everyone, we are monitoring the Scottish and UK government advice regarding COVID-19. The SIE team are now all working from home but keeping in regular contact with each other and those who depend on our support. Our team are well equipped for flexible working, but it is new for us all to be working remotely at the same time, so we are finding a range of ways to keep in touch with each other to keep things moving forward and to keep our spirits up.
We fully intend to continue to offer great support to educators and to students. We may have to find different ways to do that, however, including moving some activities on-line.
Although our office is closed, you can still contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org and your query will be directed to the appropriate person.
Our SIE Entrepreneurs
We realise this is a uniquely challenging time for anyone in the early stages of starting a business. You are not alone; SIE’s Business and Innovation Advisors continue to be available for one-to-one support, via phone and virtual meetings (Skype, Zoom etc). Please continue to contact them directly or via email@example.com
Innovators still wanted!
SIE has always encouraged students and recent graduates to talk to us about their ideas, from when it may be no more than a hunch. If you are not sure where to start, our advisors can help. Find out more here: https://www.sie.ac.uk/innovation-support/
Scottish Innovative Students Awards (SISA)
Our deadline for the on-line applications for the SISA level 3 certificate, which is only open to those who attended the Level 2 workshops, is still 30th April, 2020. We will be providing additional on-line guidance and support for those who would like to work towards SISA Level 3 via an exclusive Facebook group.
We have been supporting educators on a case by case basis by delivering on-line versions of the classes that had already been arranged.
We are also working towards developing online resources for SISA Level 1, which is normally delivered in a classroom setting.
Please continue to contact us for advice and support regarding how you can develop enterprising, innovative and entrepreneurial mindsets in your students.
Finally, please stay safe!
