This week people gathered at the Business Blazer event, an all day celebration of entrepreneurship on Scotland. The event showcased numerous young start ups and some very ambitious small businesses from the Edinburgh and the Lothians.
 
Speakers on the day included John Anderson, CEO of The Entrepreneurial Exchange and Michael Canon, Director of R&D/Smart grants, Scottish Enterprise who discussed entrepreneurship in a Scottish context and touched upon the needs of Scottish entrepreneurs and the high quality of entrepreneurship in Scotland.  Kieran Smyth of SIE also spoke about how we support and support enterprise in universities; and explained why in business, you don’t always have to wear a “blazer”!
 
Kate Ho, a serial entrepreneur and alumnus of SIE spoke about her route to entrepreneurship, inspiring people with her try and try again attitude. Andrew Simpson, founder of Easypyro spoke about  his experiences bringing a product to a global market.
 
The day finished up with a pitching contents and workshops on social media, selling skills and building a winning business. the event was a great success and enjoyed by everyone who attended.
