The Fresh Ideas monthly winners and highly commended entries from October – January will join the shortlisted New Ventures entrants and will move on to the next stage of the competition: an exclusive Exploration Day event on 21st February where they will work on their idea with business advisors and prepare for pitching to judges. The final competition winners will be announced at the SIE Student Enterprise Summit on 23rd March.
Commenting on the competition entries, Fiona Godsman, CEO of the Scottish Institute for Enterprise, said:
“We’re very pleased that the number of entries for our competitions is increasing, and, not only that, but the quality of entries is higher than ever.
SIE’s competitions are a fantastic starting point for young entrepreneurs, and many of our competition alumni advance to further success with the Converge Challenge, EDGE and others. This is just the beginning.”
The first prize winner of the Fresh Ideas competition will receive £1000. The New Ventures competition has a top prize of £10,000 sponsored by Bank of Scotland, and additional awards are provided by Enterprise Campus and Innovation Forum.
